A Hospital setup deals with a large number of items or goods.  All these items are broadly categorised in 3 categories , namely,  

-Assets Store,

-Medical Store,

-General Store.

Assets store, as the name indicates, receives and issues capital or assets items 

Medical store receives and issues medical goods like pharma, surgical and implants. 

General Store receives all general items like stationary, housekeeping items, linen etc.

In any HIS (Hospital information Management, There are two levels of items categorisation. One is Category and other is Sub Category. It is recommended to have 3 levels of categorisations i.e. Category, Sub category and Sub-Sub category. This helps in quick filtration of items and their analysis and ultimately a better dashboard.
